Holly-Hunter

Holly Hunter (born Holly Hunter) is an American actor and producer who has gained recognition for her outstanding performances in films including Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Piano, as well as The Incredibles. Her movie Piano earned her an Oscar. Her acting career began with Broadway through a myriad of Broadway and Off Broadway initiatives. It has always been her passion. When she was in fifth grade, she portrayed Helen Keller in an original production. Mumps made her lose her hearing in one of her ear canals, but that did not stop her from following her dreams. As a young woman she took classes in drama at the college level and then moved into New York City from Pittsburgh so that she could pursue her ambitions. Hunter was able to make her Broadway debut following an accidental meeting in the company of Beth Henley, a playwright. They collaborated on Broadway Crimes of the Heart. After moving from Los Angeles she tried to get film roles and bagged the role of a co-star for the role of a supporting character in Swing Shift. She has since appeared in many TV movies and series in a long career that spans more than 30 years. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star and the Women in Film Lucy Award.
